America was built on the whipped, bloody backs of my ancestors brought unwillingly to this country.  I love and live in a country where, due to social media, there are daily instances of brutalization and trauma against black and brown bodies. How is one able to pick themselves up day-in and day-out and face a country that loves black culture but loathes black people? These are questions this dance asks of the dancers performing and the audience members watching.
